The technology industry has long been male-dominated, but now, women are breaking down barriers and making their marks in the industry. In the Salesforce ecosystem, women have been making significant contributions, from leading successful Salesforce implementations, to creating innovative Salesforce apps, and founding Salesforce-related businesses.

In honour of Women's History Month, let's shed a light on the achievements of these trailblazing women and acknowledge the impact they have had on Salesforce and its ecosystem.

Leyla Seka

Leyla Seka is a prominent tech executive and an advocate for diversity and inclusion in the tech industry. 

She is best known for her work at Salesforce, where she served as the executive vice president of Mobile until 2019. During her time at Salesforce, she played a significant role in the development of the Salesforce AppExchange, which has become the world's leading enterprise app marketplace. 

In addition to her work at Salesforce, she has served on the board of directors for Girls Who Code, an organisation that aims to to support women in computer science. She has been recognized for her leadership and advocacy for women in technology, and was named one of the most powerful women in tech by Forbes in 2017.

Erica Kuhl

Erica Kuhl is another prominent woman in the technology industry with vast experience of over 17 years at Salesforce. Erica has held a variety of leadership positions, including Senior Director of Customer Programs and Director of Community. She has played a key role in creating the Salesforce community, which has grown to be one of the most engaged and vibrant groups in the software sector. 

Erica has also been a strong proponent of community success in the tech industry, and she has received recognition for her efforts in this regard. She was featured in many articles talking about her story as a community professional and the importance of community in organisations. She recently founded her own company Erica Kuhl Consulting, which helps other companies create authentic, engaged, and empowered communities.

Jocelyn Fennewald

Jocelyn Fennewald is COO and Co-founder of OpMentors, a Salesforce and FinancialForce Implementation Consulting firm based in Chicago. 

She has been working in the Salesforce ecosystem for over a decade and has helped businesses of all sizes optimise and implement cloud-based business applications like Salesforce. She has been recognised for her work in the Salesforce ecosystem as well as leadership skill and has been featured in several publications, such as: 3 Features That Matter To Admins In Lightning, Go From Lead to Ledger with Accounting Seed, Great leaders listen more and talk less or “What would you do if you weren’t afraid?” 

Being a woman in tech, Jocelyn understands that it can feel isolated sometimes. That’s why in addition to her work at OpMentors, Jocelyn is very active in the Ohana Community as a Salesforce MVP and co-leader of the Salesforce Chicago Women in Tech User Group and Chicago Girly Geeks Group, which are communities that support women to succeed in tech. In one of the interview with Sassyforce, she advised women working with Salesforce to reach out and join a community of like-minded people.

Steffi Kromer

Last but not least, one of the very influential women within the Salesforce community that we couldn’t help mentioning is Steffi Kromer, 6x certified Salesforce Consultant and also a founder & CEO of our company, EMPAUA!

This way she believes to be able to disrupt the way organisations operate and create a world where everyone is empowered to grow.
